Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

NeuralNotepad is designed so that your journal stays yours. This policy explains what that means in practice.

What we collect: Nothing. NeuralNotepad does not have a server, does not use analytics, and does not use crash-reporting or advertising SDKs. We — the developer — never receive your notes, journal entries, mood data, or anything else you write in the app.

What stays on your device: All of your notes, journal entries, embeddings (used for the Echo recall feature), sentiment scores, and extracted entities are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Deleting the app deletes this data. NeuralNotepad does not sync this data to iCloud or any other service unless a future version explicitly adds and discloses that feature.

On-device intelligence: NeuralNotepad uses Apple's on-device NaturalLanguage framework to compute embeddings, sentiment, and named entities. This processing happens entirely on your device and does not involve sending your text to Apple or anyone else.

Voice transcription: When you use voice capture, NeuralNotepad uses Apple's Speech framework with on-device recognition only. Your voice audio is never sent to Apple's servers or anywhere else — if on-device recognition isn't available for your device or language, transcription simply doesn't proceed. The app itself never receives or stores raw audio at all.

Reminders: If you choose to add a reminder from a note, NeuralNotepad uses Apple's EventKit to create a Reminder in your device's Reminders app, with your explicit permission (iOS will prompt you). The app does not read your existing reminders or calendar beyond what's needed to create the one you asked for.

Subscriptions: NeuralNotepad Pro purchases are handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. The app never sees or stores your payment information.

Children's privacy: NeuralNotepad is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children, because the app does not collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy: If a future version of NeuralNotepad adds any data collection (e.g. optional cloud sync, crash reporting), this policy will be updated first and the change will be reflected in the App Privacy label in App Store Connect.
